"Spectral Wake" — a dichroic acrylic light sculpture created for The New American Home 2026, the official show home of the NAHB International Builders' Show. The home is named "The Building That Light Built," reflecting owner Jason Eichenholz's lifetime work bending light as co-founder and former CTO of Luminar Technologies. Designed and installed by Josh Almeida and 42 Audio Visual.

Light as Art

The sculpture uses dichroic acrylic to split and refract light into prismatic color fields. During the day, sunlight paints abstract shapes that shift with the sun's angle. At night, integrated LEDs and projection create an entirely different experience.

In party mode, the sculpture reacts to music — turning the space into a living light show. It's not decoration. It's an experience that changes how you feel in the room.

The Story Behind the Light

Jason Eichenholz spent his career bending light — from co-founding Luminar Technologies (lidar for autonomous vehicles) to his current role as CEO of Relativity Networks. This sculpture is a physical manifestation of that life's work.
